Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Nurse Practitioner (NP) to join our hospital healthcare team. As a Hospital Nurse Practitioner, you will play a crucial role in providing advanced care to patients within the hospital setting. You will collaborate closely with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to deliver comprehensive, patient-centered care, promote health, and manage acute and chronic illnesses.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive health assessments, including medical history, physical examinations, and diagnostic tests, to formulate accurate diagnoses and develop individualized treatment plans.
  • Manage and coordinate care for hospitalized patients, including but not limited to medical-surgical patients, patients with chronic conditions, and patients undergoing treatment for acute illnesses.
  • Perform and interpret diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, such as diagnostic imaging, laboratory tests, and minor surgical procedures, as indicated by patient condition and clinical guidelines.
  • Prescribe medications, therapies, and other interventions based on patient needs, evidence-based practice guidelines, and hospital protocols.
  • Monitor patients' progress and responses to treatment, adjusting care plans as necessary to optimize health outcomes and ensure continuity of care.
  • Educate patients and families on disease prevention, treatment options, medication adherence, and post-hospital discharge instructions to promote wellness and prevent complications.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to coordinate patient care, including consultations with specialists, referrals, and discharge planning.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient encounters, treatment plans, and clinical notes using electronic health records (EHR) systems.
  • Participate in hospital committees, quality improvement initiatives, and research projects to enhance clinical knowledge and practice.
  • Adhere to ethical and legal standards of nursing practice, including patient confidentiality and informed consent.

Requirements:

  • Master's or Doctoral degree in Nursing from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program.
  • Current national certification as a Nurse Practitioner (NP) through the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) or other recognized certifying body.
  • Current state licensure as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) or eligibility for state licensure.
  • Proven experience as an NP in a hospital setting preferred; new graduates with relevant clinical rotations may be considered.
  • Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills, with proficiency in acute care management and critical thinking.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with healthcare team members, patients, and families.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team in a fast-paced hospital environment.
  • Commitment to lifelong learning and professional development in hospital nursing practice.
