Area Service Manager


Position Overview: The focus of this position is leading area operations and ensuring excellent service is provided to our direct and distributor customers. Develop relationships both internally (BradyPlus/Accurate) and externally (Customers). Lead and Train the Service Technicians reporting directly to this position. Work with the sales team to win new business in the designated area and to lead the survey process and secure new business opportunities. Lead in the implementation of all company policies.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Increase market penetration by assisting the sales team with new customers.
  • Cultivate and manage Distributor and Broker partners; facilitate frequent meetings and set expectations on proper procedures for bringing on new business.
  • Increase profitability by identifying sales opportunities within your teams existing customers.
  • Conduct install surveys; foster frequent and clear communication between internal operations, Distributors and Brokers to close business. Service & Operations
  • Set the example for exceptional service standards; provide technical field support and training as needed.
  • Responsible for execution and organization of parts, dispenser, equipment and direct-ship product orders as well as inventory management for direct customers
  • Be the main point of contact and act as a liaison between service technicians in your territory and the operations and administrative teams at headquarters (Tempe).
  • Conduct oversight of customer accounts by doing site audits to ensure proper preventative maintenance is performed.
  • 24/7 mentality - ensure after-hour and weekend service calls are responded to and resolved in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Conduct site training at customer locations on proper equipment and chemical use.
  • Oversee test locations to ensure all customer needs are met.
  • Organize large rollouts; work with our internal operations team and coordinate with customers to devise plans for flawless installations.
  • Install and maintain chemical dispensing systems, dish machines and water softeners at restaurants, hotels, schools and health care facilities.
  • Act as a change-agent by providing insight on how to improve our chemical and service program.
  • Other duties and responsibilities such as Supervisory Responsibility This position will oversee direct reports with additional reports possible as area grows. You will serve as a coach and mentor for service in their given territory.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • A minimum of 5 years' experience in the Chemical Sales/Service industry
  • A minimum of 5 years' experience managing Distributer relationships
  • Dish machine installation and preventative maintenance experience
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)
  • Ability to operate a smart phone, conduct internet research and learn new technologies
  • Ability to lift with little to no restrictions
  • Ability to travel by car and plane (valid driver's license required)
  • Able to follow safety standards that vary from site to site
  • Organizational skills and the ability to multi-task
  • Proven ability to train others
  • Strong sense of urgency
  • Solid judgment along with decision-making skills Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Extensive management experience
  • Vendor management experience
  • Familiarity with Adobe Acrobat Platforms
  • Professional, flexible and positive team player that is self-directed and self-motivated
