Social Media and Marketing Co-op

The Social Media and Marketing Co-op will support the success of Versaterm’s branding strategy, assisting the Sr. Manager, Content Marketing and Digital Content Specialist with the management of social media channels, copyediting and writing for campaigns and external communications. You will execute a variety of day-to-day responsibilities in tandem with aiding longer term strategic projects and priorities. Additionally, you will gain firsthand experience with marketing innovative technology to the public safety sector as well as have opportunities to pursue projects related to your interests and skillsets.


Responsibilities

  • Help maintain and grow our social channels (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and Instagram), by monitoring for mentions, tracking competitor accounts, etc.
  • Provide proofing and copyediting assistance for social media, content and communications
  • Write copy for social media posts, marketing emails, blogs and other marketing collateral
  • Perform quality checks of the Versaterm website, virtual event profiles, public profiles and social media channels
  • Support product marketing campaign execution
  • Develop creative ways to attract more clients, employees and promote our brand
  • Assist in the creation of visual content for multiple marketing channels, such as drafting storyboards and light design work
  • Other duties as assigned


What You Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree or currently working towards a degree in communications, marketing or a related field preferred
  • Proven writer with strong verbal communication skills
  • 1-3 years of social media marketing experience in B2B marketing, public sector or technology fields
  • Experience creating dazzling PowerPoint presentations
  • Basic design skills including image and video editing (Adobe Creative Cloud, Photoshop, Premiere Pro) a plus
  • Creative mindset balanced with critical thinking, interpersonal and problem-solving skills
  • Very organized with strong time management and prioritization skills
  • Adept at learning and using digital tools to get projects completed
  • Self-starter with ability to work independently
  • Comfortable with multitasking and changing direction in a deadline-driven environment
  • Experience working with asynchronous distributed teams preferred
  • Based in the Lexington/Columbia, SC area preferred
