JOB SUMMARY: The Site Manager is responsible for directing the daily activities of the warehouse.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop and direct programs to ensure efficient and cost-effective operation and utilization of the facility
  • Plan and schedule all distribution services including receiving, storing, and shipping, handling returned goods, maintenance, and administrative activities to ensure customer requirements are met in a time-efficient manner
  • Direct and oversee job assignments and plan daily labor schedules
  • Ensure proper training of employees in safety and operating procedures
  • Direct the warehouse supervisory personnel to achieve prescribed objectives
  • Develop space utilization plans to meet prescribed cost and service standards
  • Apply sound communication and motivational techniques, create supervisory programs to counsel and discipline subordinates
  • Develop procedures to ensure the efficient operation of warehouse equipment
  • Ensure the cleanliness of work areas
  • Report all work-related injuries to personnel immediately
  • Provide immediate medical attention to injured employees as necessary
  • Ensure the safety of products stored at Sunland warehouses
  • Control and direct all transportation into and out of the warehouse to meet Company standards of customer service, cost, safety, and security
  • Ensure accurate and timely preparation, processing, distribution, and retention of all necessary reports and records regarding warehouse operations
  • Participate in the preparation of budgets, revenue projections, and account analyses.

HAZMAT DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for overseeing the loading and unloading of hazardous materials on-site as well as proper storage location and segregation requirements.
  • Responsible for responding to incidents with hazardous materials in storage such as damaged packaging, spilled drums/containers, and third-party inspections requiring the opening of drums on site.
  • Responsible for preparing hazardous materials for shipment to customers including proper bills of lading or hazardous waste manifests as appropriate.
  • Understand emergency response procedures as related to hazardous waste and initiate response actions as appropriate.
  • Must receive and maintain RCRA Hazardous Materials Training.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work of forklift drivers, team leaders, and other warehouse personnel


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

  • Experience in warehouse management
  • Broad knowledge of warehouse operations
  • Knowledge of proper chemical handling & distribution.
  • Awareness Training 49 CFR*172.704
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts
  • Ability to interpret technical documents
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to organize and manage multiple priorities
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Good computer skills (Microsoft Office operations)


EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

  • College degree and 3 years experience or High School Diploma and 5 or more years of experience in warehouse management.


CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

  • Possess or have the ability to become forklift certified
  • South Carolina Drivers License or equivalent
  • Hazardous Material Handling Certification - preferred
  • Minimum 8 hr. Hazwhopper training and DOT/RCRA Training 49*CFR 260-282 - preferred
