Retail Sales Associate Job Description
About us:
Velvet Cannabis, a leading retail dispensary based in Northern California, is expanding its team at our Southern California location in Eagle Rock, CA.
Velvet Cannabis partners with world class cannabis brands to curate a unique, cutting edge and refreshing take on cannabis. Our extensive industry relationships and experience allow us access to some of the best, lab tested and safe cannabis products available at affordable prices.
We are looking for professional Retail Sales Associates & Cannabis Enthusiasts. As a Retail Sales Associate, you are the face of Velvet Cannabis focused on providing an exceptional customer experience.
Retail Sales Associate Compensation: $20.00 per/hour
Retail Sales Associate Responsibilities:
- Act in a professional manner, greeting customers, facilitating sales, and ensuring exceptional customer experience
- Advising customers on cannabis products based on their needs, preferences, budgets, and interests
- Keeping up to date with the cannabis industry standards, new products, strains, and changes in laws, as well as industry trends
- Processes customer transactions using Velvet’s Point of Sale (POS) system.
- Ensuring the dispensary is clean, stocked, and well-organized at all times
- Educating customers on the safe use of cannabis products provided at Velvet Dispensary
- Upsells when appropriate; promote current sales, promotions, discounts, etc.
- Verifying proper identification of customers to verify they are of legal age to purchase and consume products offered
- Maintains the professional appearance of the sales floor
- Inventory of cannabis products
- Ensuring sales floor is always stocked and well-organized
- Assisting in various dispensary operations while maintaining hygienic conditions.
- Ability to remain stationary position for a minimum of 3 hours
- Ability to stand, walk, stoop and kneel
- Ability to grasp, finger, and reach
- Ability to effectively communicate
- Available nights, weekends, holidays
Retail Sales Associate Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED required
- Previous cannabis experience preferred
- Knowledge of cannabis strains and their benefits, effects, etc.
- Outstanding customer service & communication skills
- Attention to detail & multi-tasked oriented
- A passion & interest for all things cannabis
- Drive to go above and beyond for your team and your customer
