Job DescriptionJob DescriptionThe PC & Network Technician will be responsible for providing comprehensive technical support to end-users within the organization. The primary focus of this role will be on PC design and implementation, imaging, diagnosing, repair, and rebuilding of PCs. Additionally, the PC & Network Technician will provide basic support for servers, networks, and email systems.

Essential Functions

  • PC Design and Implementation:
    • Collaborate with stakeholders to design PC configurations that meet organizational needs.
    • Install and configure PC hardware and software according to established standards and procedures.
    • Ensure that PC setups align with security and performance requirements.
  • Imaging:
    • Develop and maintain standardized PC images for deployment across the organization.
    • Perform imaging and deployment of PCs using appropriate tools and methodologies.
  • Diagnosing, Repair, and Rebuilding of PCs:
    • Troubleshoot hardware and software issues on desktop and laptop computers.
    • Conduct thorough diagnostics to identify the root cause of technical problems.
    • Perform repairs and replacements of faulty hardware components.
    • Rebuild PCs as necessary to restore functionality and performance.
  • Server Support:
    • Assist with the setup, configuration, and maintenance of servers.
    • Basic troubleshooting of server-related issues and performing necessary repairs or escalations with the guidance of senior staff.
  • Network Support:
    • Provide basic network support, including connectivity troubleshooting and cable management.
    • Assist with setting up and configuring network devices such as switches and routers.
  • Email Support:
    • Administer and troubleshoot email systems to ensure reliability and performance.
    • Assist end-users with email-related issues and configurations.
  • Documentation and Reporting:
    • Maintain accurate documentation of hardware and software configurations.
    • Document troubleshooting procedures and resolutions for future reference.
    • Generate reports on support activities and performance metrics as required.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of two to four years of proven experience in PC design, imaging, diagnosing, repair, and rebuilding.
  • Relevant certifications such as CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified Desktop Support Technician (MCDST), or equivalent are a plus.
  • Familiarity with server administration, network fundamentals, and email systems.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
