Position Summary: 

As a Development Specialist you will be tasked with stewarding donors that give a total of $1,000 to $10,000 in either individual or through ongoing gifts through the year. You will play a crucial  role in acknowledging and stewarding our existing base of mid-level donors. Your primary responsibilities will be to cultivate and grow the portfolio by increasing frequency and amounts of gifts, while also identifying prospective individual donors developing and implementing strategies to cultivate meaningful relationships. The successful candidate will also collaborate with internal staff on supporting regional fundraising events and ensure the timely and accurate delivery of reports to funders.

 

Responsibilities:

1. Donor Cultivation:

  • Cultivate the Donor base and continue to grow it.
  • Identify and prioritize prospective individual donors.
  • Develop and execute effective strategies to cultivate and strengthen donor relationships through phone calls, emails and electronic personal meetings.

2. Communication and Stewardship:

  • Maintain ongoing, personalized communications with individual donors.
  • Implement stewardship initiatives to express gratitude and keep donors engaged with O.U.R.'s mission.

3. Reporting:.

  • Utilize CRM to track all interactions with existing and prospective donors, inputting opportunity stages, and managing pipeline of gift asks.
  • Ensure timely and accurate delivery of reports to funders, showcasing the impact of their contributions.
  • Collaborate with the finance and marketing teams to gather relevant information for impact reports.
  • Manage weekly and monthly reports to share and provide updates and briefings on opportunities in all stages, funnel forecast predictions, and KPIs on activities.

4. Event Collaboration:

  • Work closely with internal staff to plan and execute regional fundraising events.
  • Coordinate logistics, engage donors, and contribute to the success of fundraising events.

5. Fundraising Goal Achievement:

  • Achieve a personal annual fundraising goal of a minimum of $650,000 dollars.
  • Expectation of a 20% increase year over year.
  • Solicit annual gifts and move prospective donors through the pipeline.
  • Build and strengthen existing relationships while actively seeking opportunities to grow the donor base.

 

Qualifications:

  • Passion for O.U.R.'s mission to combat child exploitation and human trafficking. Bachelor's degree or experience in a related field with a track record of success.
  • Minimum 3 years proven experience in fundraising, preferably in mid-level donor engagement or inside sales roles.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational and project management abilities.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Ability to work evening and weekends as required.
