Position Overview: This part-time role will assist with the coordination of all volunteer and financial mentor activities for 3rd Decade. Under the direction of the Director of Mentor and Volunteer Engagement, the position will focus on volunteer management from onboarding through ongoing engagement and recognition. Additionally, this role will oversee technology platforms and database coordination related to the financial mentor and volunteer program.


Responsibilities

Volunteer Management

  • Coordinates the management of financial mentor and volunteer relationships and ongoing engagement including:
    • Supporting the onboarding process to ensure financial mentors and volunteers have the proper technology, tools, and training to begin working with participants.
    • Coordinating the meetings between financial mentors and participants, to include initiating meeting invitations, rescheduling meetings, and ensuring post-meeting responsibilities are completed.
    • Auditing new financial mentors’ meetings with participants, providing guidance and feedback for continual improvement.
    • Assisting with and identifying recognition opportunities and activities.
  • Assists with the creation and managing of training materials and resources used by financial mentors and volunteers.

Technology and Database Oversight

  • Oversees Salesforce and Volunteer Matters databases, along with other financial mentor and volunteer technologies in relation to mentor and volunteer activities, including:
    • Compiling data for the purpose of running and analyzing reports for organizational leadership.
    • Ensuring the fidelity of all mentor data in the system.
    • Provide troubleshooting for system problems and concerns.
  • Develops and conducts surveys and presents results and recommendations to leadership.

Program Administration

  • Provides excellent customer service to prospective, current, and retiring volunteer financial mentors.
  • Provides general assistance and program administration for our financial mentor and volunteer program as assigned.

Requirements:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Highly organized with great attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently. Being proactive and self-motivated are valued characteristics.
  • Ability to think critically and have a vision for the organization as it relates to engagement and education.
  • Requires concrete understanding of the basic financial literacy principles. Financial coaching or counseling experience is a plus.
  • 1-3 years’ work experience in volunteer management or engagement within a non-profit organization or related field, required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or related field preferred.
  • Bilingual (Spanish)
  • Prior experience managing diverse networks of volunteers.
  • Demonstrated track record of being able to recruit, engage, and support volunteers.
  • Proficient with Google Workspace / Microsoft Office Suite or related software
  • Experience using CRM, VMS, and Database systems, preferably experience using Salesforce or volunteer management systems.
