Financial Controller

The Financial Controller will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of financial management, including corporate accounting, regulatory and financial reporting, budget and forecasts preparation, as well as development of internal control policies and procedures. The successful candidate will work closely with the President and the Senior Management team to support decision-making, drive efficiencies, and ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards.

JOB DUTIES:

Financial Reporting and Analysis:

• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
• Conduct variance analysis and provide insights into financial performance.
• Develop and maintain financial models for forecasting and budgeting purposes.
• Prepare ad-hoc financial reports and analysis as requested by senior management.

Budgeting and Forecasting:

• Coordinate the annual budgeting process in collaboration with department heads.
• Prepare financial forecasts and monitor performance against budgets.
• Identify areas for cost reduction and revenue enhancement.

Internal Controls and Compliance:

• Develop and implement internal control policies and procedures to safeguard company assets.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and financial reporting standards.
• Coordinate external audits and liaise with auditors as necessary.

• Utilize cost accounting methodologies to analyze and report on product/service costs.
• Manage manufacturing/project accounting processes to ensure accurate cost allocation and reporting.
• Oversee intercompany accounting processes for multiple entities within the organization.

Team Leadership and Development:

• Supervise and mentor finance team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional development.
• Provide leadership and guidance on financial matters to other departments within the organization.
• Foster a collaborative and supportive working environment.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or equivalent professional qualification desired.
• 3+ years of progressive experience in financial management roles
• Intercompany accounting experience (multiple companies)
• This is a working accountant position (15% oversight, 85% working)
• Thorough understanding of GAAP and financial reporting requirements.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.

• Proficiency in financial software and MS Office Suite, with advanced Excel skills.
• Possess in-depth knowledge of ERP systems and their functionalities.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage competing priorities effectively. Manage payroll function and ensure accuracy and compliance with relevant regulations.
• Experience with R&D credits is a positive.
• Experience in internal audit is a plus.
