BHRS Companies is seeking a full-time Jacksonville, FL area based Accounting & Project Finance Specialist to serve in the corporate office's commercial operations.

What does the role pay?

This is a full-time northeast Florida area based role with a pay range of $64,200 to $75,000 total compensation package including annual bonus at plan. Base salary is commensurate with experience and qualifications.

We are seeking a highly motivated and organized Accounting & Project Finance Specialist to join our team. This full-time position is responsible for managing all aspects of the company's corporate accounting functions, while also providing dedicated financial support for our development and construction projects. You will play a key role in ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of our financial records, while also providing valuable insights and support to our executives.


Overall Responsibilities:

  • General Accounting:
    • Manage the day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and payroll (may include assisting with processing).
    • Process financial transactions, ensuring accuracy and adherence to accounting principles.
    • Perform monthly reconciliations of bank statements and other accounts.
    • Prepare financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
    • Maintain accurate and up-to-date accounting records.
  • Construction Project Finance:
    • Manage the financial records for assigned construction projects.
    • Track project budgets, costs, and expenditures.
    • Prepare project financial reports for internal and external stakeholders.
    • Assist with project cost control and variance analysis.
  • Executive Support:
    • Provide financial data and analysis to support executive decision-making.
    • Prepare presentations and reports for executive meetings.
    • Assist with administrative tasks as needed.

Education and General Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (preferred).
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a similar accounting role.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices
  • Proficient in accounting software (ie. QuickBooks, Sage)
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Experience in the construction industry (a plus).
