Basic Qualifications
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Broadband Installer with expertise in Fiber to the "x" (FTTX) technologies and wireless router installations. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, configuring, and maintaining broadband communication systems for residential and commercial customers. This role requires strong technical skills, excellent customer service, and the ability to troubleshoot and resolve network issues efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:
- Configure and install wireless routers and Wi-Fi systems to ensure optimal performance and connectivity.
- Perform site surveys to determine the best installation routes and equipment placement.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to fiber optic connections, home networking, and Wi-Fi.
- Educate customers on the use and maintenance of their home networking equipment.
- Document work done and maintain accurate records of installations and repairs.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations during all installation and maintenance activities.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest broadband technologies and techniques.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or associate degree in telecommunications, networking, or a related field is preferred.
- Proven experience in fiber optic installation and maintenance, preferably in a residential or commercial setting.
- Strong knowledge of home networking, including the configuration and troubleshooting of home routers and Wi-Fi systems.
- Familiarity with various types of home networking equipment, including routers, switches, and access points.
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents, schematics, and installation instructions.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and carry equipment and materials up to 50 pounds.
- Comfort with working in various residential environments, including attics, crawl spaces, and outdoors.
- Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces as required.
- Requires travel throughout Chelan County
