The primary responsibility of the Benefit Analyst is to facilitate the transition of human capital and benefits data into the benefits administration solutions for client implementations. The core responsibilities are to support the implementation process and perform analysis, diagnostics, development, configuration, and testing of the solutions for client set up. The Benefit Analyst serves as a key liaison with clients for continued support and assists with ensuring data integrity, testing system changes, report writing, and analyzing data flows. Ongoing service support requires frequent validation of benefit admin data to payroll and carrier systems. This position will report to the Director of Benefit Administration and work closely with clients and other Bolton Benefit Administration Services (BAS) and Health Team members.
Duties & Responsibilities include:
- Assist with transition of data from legacy platform.
- Design site applications for clients utilizing analysis of client specific HR and benefit plan data.
- Create, test, and implement HR and benefits administration solution for clients.
- Provide close communication with clients to clarify data format requirements.
- Modify and update Benefit Administration system for clients’ online benefit open enrollments.
- Provide ongoing telephone and online support to the client.
- Utilize interpersonal and communication skills to train, instruct and educate clients on the benefit administration solution’s functionality and capabilities.
- Use project management skills to manage implementations and annual plan renewals.
- Respond in a timely fashion to the client requests and concerns related to the system’s business applications.
- Determine nature and extent of support needed, provide support or refer to the appropriate internal or external service to resolve issues.
- Work closely with BAS team colleagues on client-specific initiatives that involve data translation or integration development.
- Update internal systems as required to allow for accurate status reporting and creation of management reports.
- Create and maintain carrier files, point of contact for discrepancy reports.
- Perform ongoing audits of client, carrier, and benefit administration system data.
- Create documentation for future reference, training, and support purposes.
- Through classes, readings, or other mechanisms; continuously increase HR and benefits knowledge as well as HRIS application/tools technology.
Requirements Include:
- Minimum 2-3 years’ experience working with HR-related information systems and/or online self-service benefit enrollment systems. bswift and Benefitfocus knowledge and experience preferred.
- Knowledge of benefit administration systems and EDI experience preferred, specifically bswift Feedbuilder and 834 files.
- Advanced proficiency in MS Excel, working knowledge of MS Office products.
- ACA administration experience a plus
- Attention to detail; excellent analytical skills.
- Excellent Customer Service skills. Ability to manage multiple clients in various stages of implementation and ongoing service.
- A degree in a related field and/or industry certification is desirable.
