Shift: 6:00A.M.-4:30P.M.

Job Description:

BrightFarms Penn Greenhouse is recruiting a trainer who exemplifies our CORE leadership philosophies and 5 Rules. This position will be responsible for the “on the floor” training process of onboarding, retraining associates, evaluating, furthering the current training system, and helping guide a positive culture at BrightFarms. Ideally candidates will work well with others, be punctual, speak to groups and be dedicated to the success and progress of their fellow associates.

Trainer Duties:

  • Continue developing “training packet” with the consultation of operations/P&C teams and help create other pieces of material
  • Use “training packet” to guide training/onboarding for associates in need at every job in the responsible department
  • Document all trainings to ensure accountability
  • Work with supervisors and PM to create rolling schedule for new hires and retraining to ensure compliance
  • Work with other department trainers to allow for full comprehension of processes from customer to customer and improve flow between departments
  • Know and teach BrightFarms 5 Rules and CORE leadership philosophies
  • Review employee performance with department supervisors and promote retraining as needed
  • Work with FSQ/EHS/P&C/OPS departments to implement new policies and procedures

Trainer Qualifications:

  • Excellent ability to lead and build teams
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize and manage time
  • Organized and attentive
  • Demonstrates emotional intelligence to apply individual treatment during training
  • Experience with training, greenhouses and/or management
  • Mission driven, self-starters with a desire to be part of something better for the world, team player.
  • Ability to fulfill routine logs related to food safety and inspection reports.
  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time, work in cold and warm/hot environments, lift 20-30 pounds without assistance.

Working conditions

Working in a Greenhouse is generally a warm and sunny place to be Occasionally Harvesters may be asked assist in the coolers where the produce is packed and those coolers are kept at around 40 degrees (coats are provided). Also Harvester are often working near moving mechanical parts. There will be exposure to cleaning chemicals. The noise level of machines and cooling units can be loud. All safety gear will be provided, and expected to be used, for conditions involving extreme weather, noise, and chemical exposure.

Physical requirements

While performing the duties of this job, employees are expected to constantly use hands to finger, handle or feel, as well as talk and hear. There is frequent standing, walking, reaching with hands and arms, as well as stooping, kneeling, crouching, and climbing. The lifting requirements to occasionally lift up to 25 pounds, and on a rotating basis constantly lift up to 10 pounds. The employee should have clear correctable vision at close and distance range, as well as peripheral vision to notice safety hazards.
