THE ROLE: Under the guidance of the CIO and in collaboration with other leaders participates in the development and implementation of the strategic IT infrastructure vision for TJH, planning the projects necessary to implement that vision, and providing day-to-day management of significant portions of the operations necessary to execute the vision. Is directly responsible for all IT infrastructure and IT security for Thomas James Homes. This is a hands on role that requires both strategic and tactical capability.

DAY IN THE LIFE:

  • Directs, manages and evaluates the work of professional, technical and other IT staff including system administrators, infosec analysts and the helpdesk;
  • Serves the essential role of continuously developing and refining the vision for deployment of information technology infrastructure resources. These activities include keeping abreast of the most modern and effective technology platforms, evaluating the financial and operational resources necessary to deploy those technologies, and working with senior management to budget and implement them.
  • Develops detailed project plans to implement new technologies, upgrade existing technologies to be compatible with new technologies, and/or makes changes necessary to correct problems or incompatibilities with existing technologies.
  • Directly responsible for the day-to-day operations of the following managers/groups: IT Infrastructure for corporate and all divisions, Cisco Meraki and overall network architecture, Microsoft 365 & MS Azure; wired and wireless networks; telephony; network security and strives to maintain the appropriate levels of up-time on all critical systems.
  • Assess security capabilities of company technology in partnership with other IT groups, perform security assessments on priority technologies, both new and existing.
  • Monitor for and identify both insider and outsider threats and suspicious activities.
  • Manage, contain and report security incidents. Maintain a strong relationship with Compliance and Privacy to ensure breach reporting requirements are met.
  • Is the primary IT leader responsible for managing, executing and reporting around IT SOX related requirements in conjunction with the Internal Audit team. Ensure relevant regulatory and compliance requirements are met. Oversees & audits IT Change Management Process.
  • Envisions, develops, documents, and implements Institute-wide IT standards and procedures.
  • Provide mentorship and leadership to teams on both campuses. Where possible, leverage expertise across the teams, reduce redundant processes, and eliminate unnecessary costs.
  • Act as a point of contact for all IT critical issues (including helpdesk).
  • Performs other related duties, tasks and responsibilities as required or assigned.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED:

  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in information systems management/technology, computer science or business information systems, or an equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience.
  • Cisco Meraki, Microsoft Azure and Jira background preferred
  • Minimum 10 years progressively responsible and related experience, including a minimum of 5 years managing a comparable IT organization
  • Demonstrated knowledge of systems architecture and the ability to effectively compare and evaluate emerging technologies.

  • Proven leadership skill and the demonstrated ability to not only lead diverse teams, but also drive processes with both direct and indirect authority.
  • Strong analytical, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Ability to effectively interact with all levels of employees, including senior-level management, as well as individuals with technical backgrounds and expertise.

The compensation range for this role is influenced by a variety of factors including but not limited to skills, experience, qualifications, and geographic location.
