Job DescriptionJob Description The Buyer is responsible for organizing purchasing functions; including, but not limited to the procurement of inventory replenishment and customer requisitions. The Buyer is expected to manage the strategic sourcing, request for quotes (RFQs), negotiations, quote analysis, Purchase Order (PO) issuance and follow up for on-time delivery for their requisitions. The Buyer also coordinates bid process and ensures compliance with procurement conflict-of-interest policies and regulations.

Key Job Responsibilities

  • Able to strategically source, prepare bid packages and negotiate commodities.
  • Demonstrates effective communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Evaluates vendors to measure product and service performance to ensure they are meeting Bradford quality standards.
  • Evaluate vendors to measure on-time delivery and relationship performance.
  • Backup for Buyer/s to include ordering of supplies/goods, equipment and material, reviewing and processing/issuing of purchase orders, as required.
  • Identify opportunities for cost savings and expansion of vendor base.
  • Work with team and manager to continually improve purchasing methods/processes.
  • Timely response to inquiries from internal and external stakeholders.
  • Execute on special projects and/or other duties as assigned.
  • Attention to detail and able to adhere to required protocols.

Education, Work Experience, Licenses, and Certificates

  • Years of relevant work experience required: 3 years’ experience in a purchasing role preferred
  • Hands-on experience with Logistics, Inventory management, and Procurement

  • Proactive and self-driven.
  • Problem solver with a strong sense of urgency
  • Outstanding organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to cope with varying levels of workload and multiple tasks
