What You'll Do

The Housing Specialist will serve as a local housing advocate and will ensure that resettled refugees are provided with quality affordable housing. This person will work with the Community Engagement Specialist and volunteers to coordinate and complete apartment setups. The Housing Specialist will also be responsible for providing ongoing housing and budget support services to all client families. Develops and maintains positive relationships with local landlords and property managers. The Specialist provides cultural orientation to new arrivals on tenant rates and responsibilities. The Housing Specialist will be responsible for ensuring client case documentation is complete and accurate including financial tracking sheets, safety evaluations, supply lists, and case notes.

What You'll Need

Preferred: Bachelors degree in a related field and experience working in affordable housing and/or serving refugees. Candidates with an equivalent combination of education and experience will also be considered (Minimum of high school diploma/GED + 4 years of experience OR Associates degree + 2 years experience).

Fluency in English is required. Additional linguistic skills to meet the needs of the clients are desired but not required.
