Responsibilities:
The primary functions of this position include but are not limited to:
- Calibration, Preventative Maintenance and Maintenance of all equipment in the laboratory coordinating their work through Equipment Database known as GagePack.
- Execution of specific engineering or laboratory project work through MOC, SOP and external vendor relationships.
- Support and provide technical input to research and engineering projects.
- Troubleshoot complex polymer processing problems with understanding of product and machinery technology.
- Troubleshooting electrical & relay controlled machinery
- Maintain accurate records in a Workflow Management and Equipment Database (GagePack).
- Maintain a safe and clean work environment that complies with all safety/health related policies and procedures
- Perform major equipment modifications, maintenance and repairs
- Troubleshooting power supplies, replacing transformers, relays & circuit boards, etc…
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Associate degree or equivalent experience (i.e. minimum 4 years of experience on industrial machinery and/or laboratory equipment)
- Minimum of 4 years of experience with:
- Maintenance of industrial machinery and/or laboratory equipment
- Process Control Experience – equipment and methodology of that equipment (injection molding, extrusion, compounding, etc.)
- Electrical, Mechanical and Programming experience
- Knowledge of Electrical and Print Schematics
- Knowledge of 3-phase electric & AC/DC power
- Knowledge of Quality Control Systems and Requirements
- Excellent mechanical aptitude and craftsmanship in handling equipment
- Mathematical capabilities sufficient to calculate percentages, ratios, unit conversions and averages and understand variability concepts
- Skills with computer data entry and applications such as Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint
- Good interpersonal and communication skills and commitment to teamwork
- This job requires working 8 hour shifts Monday-Friday, Overtime, working in confined spaces around 300 - 575 degrees F mold equipment, regular climbing of stairs, regular crouching, frequent lifting of 55 lb. weights (floor to chest), frequent walking, standing and reaching in front of body and frequent climbing on/off fork-lift
- Desirable Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
- PLC Integration, programming and troubleshooting
- Basic or Intermediate Statistics preferred
- Experience on plastics processing related equipment
- Polymer/plastic processing machines
- Forklift driving experience and certification
