Position Description:

As a full-time residential architect, you will be responsible for developing architectural designs and overseeing the construction process for residential projects in the US. You will work closely with clients, contractors, and other team members to ensure that the design and construction meet the Company’s vision and adhere to regulatory requirements. Your expertise in AutoCAD software and a design-oriented mindset will be essential for success in this role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Use AutoCAD or other drafting software to create architectural drawings, including floor plans, elevations, sections, and details.
  • Translate design concepts into accurate and detailed construction drawings that meet building codes, regulations, and client specifications.
  • Coordinate with engineers and other consultants to integrate structural, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing components into architectural drawings.
  • Participate in design discussions and provide input based on your technical expertise and understanding of residential construction practices.
  • Collaborate with the purchasing team to understand their vision, needs, and aesthetic preferences, incorporating them into the design development process.
  • Create conceptual sketches or 3D models to illustrate design ideas and facilitate client understanding and decision-making.
  • Review and comment on shop drawings and contractor submittals to ensure proper implementation of the design and compliance with codes and specifications.
  • Collaborate with the purchasing team to address design-related issues that may arise during the construction process, proposing solutions and adjustments as needed.
  • Conduct site visits to verify construction progress, identify and resolve issues, and ensure that the project is being built per the design intent.
  • Stay updated with local building codes, zoning regulations, environmental standards, and other relevant codes and regulations.
  • Ensure that architectural designs comply with all applicable building regulations and obtain necessary permits and approvals from regulatory authorities.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a residential architect, with a focus on designing and managing residential projects in U.S.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture or a related field.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD or other comparable architectural drafting software.
  • Strong technical knowledge of residential construction methods, materials, and building codes.
  • Strong design-oriented mindset, with the ability to translate client requirements into creative and functional architectural designs.
  • Excellent knowledge of local building codes, regulations, and construction processes.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines and maintaining quality standards.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills to work with clients, contractors, and other team members.
  • Experience with hip/gable roof styles with different plate heights.
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving abilities, with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving design and construction-related challenges.
  • Experience in creating a full set of residential construction documents for the U.S.
