We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Pediatric Certified Medical Biller and Coder to join our healthcare team in Dawsonville. As a key member of our administrative staff, you will play a crucial role in ensuring accurate and timely billing and coding for pediatric services. This position offers an opportunity to work in an environment where your skills and expertise contribute directly to the well-being of our young patients.

Responsibilities:
  • Review and accurately assign diagnostic and procedural codes for pediatric patient encounters.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant coding guidelines and regulations, including ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding systems.
  • Prepare and submit clean claims to insurance companies on a timely basis.
  • Follow up on unpaid claims and denials, and appeal as necessary.
  • Collaborate with healthcare regulations, coding guidelines, and insurance practices affecting pediatric coding and billing.
  • Stay current with changes in healthcare regulations, coding guidelines, and insurance practices affecting pediatric billing and coding.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA guidelines in all interactions.

Qualifications:
  • Certification as a Professional Coder (CPC) required.
  • Proficiency in ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding systems.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology relevant to pediatrics.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in coding and billing processes.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Experience with electronic health records (EHR) and medical billing software.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with pediatric billing specific to various insurance plans (Medicaid, private insurance, etc.).
  • Familiarity with pediatric medical billing rules and regulations.

Kids Health First is an Association of 37 Independent Pediatric Practices located in Atlanta and surrounding areas.  Initial candidate screenings are conducted by our recruiter. All interviews and final decisions are made by the pediatric practices, based on their current individual needs and hiring processes. Salary and benefits are determined by individual practices.
