Everstaff is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Legal Assistant/Paralegal. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills, excellent communication abilities, and a passion for assisting attorneys in all aspects of legal case management. As a Paralegal, you will play a crucial role in supporting our attorneys and ensuring the efficient operation of our legal practice.
Responsibilities:
  • Assist attorneys with case preparation, including drafting legal documents, pleadings, and correspondence.
  • Conduct legal research using online databases and resources to support case strategy and preparation.
  • Organize and maintain case files, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and confidentiality of documents.
  • Coordinate client communication and manage client inquiries and requests.
  • Prepare and file legal documents with courts, agencies, and other relevant parties.
  • Schedule and coordinate meetings, depositions, hearings, and other legal proceedings.
  • Assist in trial preparation, including preparing exhibit binders, witness lists, and trial notebooks.
  • Provide administrative support to attorneys, including managing calendars, answering phones, and greeting clients.
  • Collaborate with other members of the legal team to ensure efficient workflow and case management.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a related field.
  • Paralegal certificate from an accredited program preferred.
  • 3 years of experience working as a paralegal in a law firm setting.
  • Probate experience is a plus
  • Proficiency in legal research tools such as LexisNexis or Westlaw.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software applications.
