Job Title: Product Development Coordinator  

 

Job Summary: 

Based on our growth, we are seeking a skilled Product Development Coordinator in our Design Dept The PD Coordinator will support the daily operational functions of the Product Development and sourcing teams in all aspects of product development. You will follow the collections from inception until the style is approved or dropped. You will maintain key cross functional relationships with internal partners: Design, Production and Partner Success. This individual will report to the Sr. Manager of Product Development.

Key Responsibilities:  

  • Performs operational functions supporting designated product categories. 
  • Assists the Sr. Manager of Product Development in the development of product from initial design concept to placement to production to shipment of an item. 
  • Background in costing, cost engineering making sure cost margins are met 
  • Reviews historical costing to determine targets 
  • Analyzes, negotiates and confirms costing from factories 
  • Creates and maintains cost logs from sketch to proto phase. 
  • Monitors milestone calendars to ensure that deadlines are met, issues are flagged, and updates to the team are timely. 
  • Maintains effective communication with vendors and agents to ensure shipments are delivered on time; troubleshoots and resolves any issues that arise. 
  • Perform daily tracking and maintain records of details, updates, changes in Uplink system and proto samples ensuring due dates are met 
  • Demonstrates understanding of price value relationship. 
  • Takes initiative to utilize product knowledge to find new resources and creative methods of sourcing product to impact the assortment. 
  • Provides relevant data to merchants for PO issuance and ensures accuracy before sending completed PO to vendor. 
  • Supports continual development and refining of workflow, processes and tools in partnership with the Director. 
  • Establishes and cultivates strong relationships with all internal and external business partners. 

 

Required Qualifications: 

  • Calendar Management experience 
  • Communicating with factories overseas 
  • Cost experience and creating cost charts 
  • Excellent communication & presentation skills (to include good listening & negotiation skills) 
  • Must be detail oriented, resourceful, have excellent follow-up skills, learning and using all appropriate contacts to gather information & drive solutions. 
  • Computer skills - Microsoft office, Centric PLM, Salesforce, Excel Proficiency required 
     

Minimum Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in Fashion Design, Fashion Merchandising, or Fashion Production field  
  • 3-4 year of experience in footwear product development or related experience  
  • Some understanding of Chinese factory and counterpart communication  
  • Adobe Illustrator  
  • Microsoft Excel  
  • Microsoft SharePoint experience is a plus.
