Job Title: Manufacturing Supervisor - Cabinets

Job Overview:

The Manufacturing Supervisor will oversee the daily operations of the manufacturing floor, ensuring that production targets are met efficiently and safely. This role involves managing a team, coordinating schedules, and driving continuous improvement initiatives. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, a keen eye for detail, and a commitment to maintaining high-quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Training & Development:
    1. Develop and implement training programs for new and existing employees.
    2. Oversee the onboarding process to ensure new hires are effectively integrated into the team.
    3. Continuously assess and enhance training materials and methods to improve employee skill sets.
  • Continuous Improvement Oversight:
    1. Identify areas for process improvement and lead initiatives to enhance efficiency and productivity.
    2. Foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation within the team.
    3. Collaborate with other departments to implement best practices and streamline operations.
  • Weekly Scheduling:
    1. Forecast weekly commitments and development of plans to execute.
    2. Develop and manage weekly production schedules, including overtime requirements.
    3. Ensure adequate staffing levels to meet production goals while managing employee PTO and other leave requests.
  • Process Oversight:
    1. Monitor production progress and address any issues that may arise to prevent delays.
    2. Proactive identification of execution risks and development of recovery plans.
  • Coaching and Support:
    1. Provide ongoing coaching and support to team members, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
    2. Ensure employees understand and adhere to company policies and procedures.
    3. Conduct regular performance reviews and manage performance issues proactively.
  • Quality Assurance:
    1. Work closely with the quality assurance team to ensure all products meet strict quality standards.
    2. Address any quality issues promptly and implement corrective actions as needed.
    3. Maintain high standards of quality assurance within the department.
    4. Closing the feedback loop with operators and other departments regarding quality related issues.
  • Resource Utilization:
    1. Optimize the use of resources including materials, equipment, and labor, to maximize efficiency.
    2. Analyze process times, relay expectations, and establish accountability measures.
    3. Monitor and control production costs while maintaining product quality.
  • Quote Writer Work Order Review:
    1. Review and validate work orders to ensure accuracy and feasibility.
    2. Through the pre-build meeting process, coordinate with different departments (e.g., supply chain, sales, engineering) to ensure seamless workflow.
    3. Communicate any discrepancies or issues to the relevant departments for resolution.
  • Departmental Communication:
    1. Facilitate effective communication within the department and between other departments.
    2. Lead regular team meetings to discuss goals, progress, and any issues that need addressing.
  • Safety:
    1. Promote a safe working environment by enforcing safety protocols and guidelines.
    2. Conduct regular safety training and ensure compliance with all safety regulations.
    3. Address any safety concerns or incidents promptly and thoroughly.

Qualifications:

  • Education:
    1. College degree in Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
    2. Relevant experience in manufacturing may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Experience:
    1. Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
    2. At least two (2) years in a supervisory role is preferred.
    3. Life Line product knowledge a plus.
  • Skills:
    1. Strong leadership and team management abilities.
    2. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    3. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with Global Shop.
    4. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
    5. Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Physical Requirements:
    1. Ability to work in a manufacturing environment, including standing and walking for extended periods.
    2. Ability to lift and move materials up to 50lbs.
