Job Overview

As the Production Manager, you will play a pivotal role in driving innovation, collaborating closely with our Head of Manufacturing and Quality. You will lead the management and coordination of our advanced production operations within a new, highly automated facility, ensuring excellence and efficiency throughout the process. We seek a seasoned expert with over a decade of experience in food manufacturing, particularly in consumer packaged goods. Your knowledge of SQF/BRC, FDA, and GMP compliance will be crucial as you formulate and execute processes and policies that establish new benchmarks in the industry.

Key Responsibilities

Operational Leadership:

  • Provide guidance and training to achieve company goals.
  • Oversee all facets of food production operations to guarantee efficiency, quality, and safety.
  • Develop and implement production schedules to meet organizational targets and customer requirements.
  • Ensure adherence to SQF/BRC, FDA, and GMP standards.
  • Promote safety and ensure that all unsafe actions and conditions are resolved promptly.

Floor Management:

  • Establish SOPs: Create and maintain clear Standard Operating Procedures to ensure consistent quality and accountability.
  • Performance Measurement: Monitor and evaluate production metrics to surpass targets.
  • Team Development: Mentor team leaders, conduct performance reviews, provide constructive feedback, and foster accountability.
  • Right People, Right Roles: Optimize staffing by aligning skills with roles for maximum productivity.
  • KPI Improvement: Continuously drive initiatives to enhance efficiency and meet key performance indicators.

Leadership & Team Development:

  • Recruit, onboard, train, and inspire team members.
  • Cultivate a positive and productive work environment by prioritizing people and encouraging collaboration.
  • Provide leadership and direction, ensuring clear communication of objectives and expectations.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Industrial Management, or a related field preferred, but not mandatory (based on experience).
  • Over 10 years of experience in food manufacturing, particularly in consumer packaged goods.
  • Experience with frozen meat products is advantageous, but not essential.
  • Strong background in SQF/BRC, FDA, and GMP compliance.
  • Proven experience in developing processes and policies.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to remain calm and make sound decisions under pressure.
  • Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret and utilize data for decision-making.
  • Proficient in MS Office or Google Suite (Google preferred, training available).
  • Lean Manufacturing, ISO, Six Sigma - desirable, but not required.
