Cybersecurity Security Advisory | Network/IT Infrastructure (GRC)
*** C2C Preferred but W2 OK ***

Job Duties:

  • Risk Assessment and Management:
    • Conduct comprehensive risk assessments to identify and prioritize cybersecurity risks.
    • Develop and implement risk management strategies.
  • Security Program Development:
    • Create and maintain a cybersecurity program aligned with organizational goals.
    • Establish and enforce security policies and procedures.
  • Security Governance:
    • Provide oversight and governance for the organization's cybersecurity program.
    • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
  • Incident Response Planning:
    • Develop and maintain incident response plans.
    • Lead or advise on incident response efforts during security incidents.
  • Vendor and Third-Party Risk Management:
    • Assess and manage security risks associated with third-party vendors.
    • Ensure that vendors adhere to security and compliance requirements.
  • Security Architecture Review:
    • Review and evaluate the organization's security architecture.
    • Recommend improvements to enhance overall security posture.
  • Compliance Management:
    • Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and legal requirements.
    • Stay informed about changes in compliance obligations.
  • Security Incident Documentation:
    • Document security incidents, investigations, and resolutions.
    • Analyze incidents to identify root causes and areas for improvement.
  • Security Technology Evaluation:
    • Evaluate and recommend security technologies and tools.
    • Stay abreast of emerging threats and cybersecurity solutions.
  • Strategic Planning:
    • Develop a long-term cybersecurity strategy aligned with business objectives.
    • Advising executive leadership on cybersecurity investments and priorities.
    • Provide regular updates on the cybersecurity program's effectiveness.
  • Security Metrics and Reporting:
    • Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to measure the effectiveness of the cybersecurity program.
    • Generate regular reports for stakeholders.
  • Incident Simulation and Testing:
    • Conduct regular incident response simulations and testing.
    • Identify areas for improvement in incident response capabilities.
  • Continuous Improvement:
    • Continuously monitor and evaluate the cybersecurity landscape for emerging threats and best practices.
    • Provide knowledge transfer.

Desired Skills

  • Five (5) years' experience in the Security Advisory role
  • Five (5) years' experience in Network/IT Infrastructure/Cybersecurity Security Advisory role
  • Hold at least one of the following industry-recognized certifications:
    • CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional)
    • CISM (Certified Information Security Manager)
  • Leadership and Strategic Vision for cybersecurity aligned with business goals.
  • Decision-making abilities with a focus on balancing security needs with business objectives.
  • Risk Management in addressing high-impact security risks effectively.
  • Ability to communicate complex cybersecurity concepts to non-technical stakeholders, and leadership.
  • Incident Response and Crisis Management.
  • Security Governance in establishing and maintaining security governance structures.
  • Collaboration and Relationship Building with cross-functional teams and build strong relationships.
  • Interpersonal skills to work effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strategic Planning to develop and implement a long-term cybersecurity strategy.
  • Technical Proficiency of cybersecurity technologies, tools, and best practices.
  • Awareness of emerging threats and trends in the cybersecurity landscape.
  • Vendor and Third-Party Risk Management:
  • Regulatory Compliance:
  • Continuous Learning Commitment to staying abreast of the latest cybersecurity trends, threats, and technologies.
  • Assessing proficiency in conducting Internal Security Audits for IT and Asset Management, aligning with requirements, and regulations like NIST, FedRAMP, ISO-27001, and SOC.
  • Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills to assess complex cybersecurity issues.
  • Flexibility and Adaptability to adapt to evolving cybersecurity threats and organizational needs.
