Job Title:

Lead Systems Engineer - Space Segment Technical Team

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly experienced Lead Systems Engineer to join our Northrop Grumman team in Dulles, VA. As a key member of our Tactical Space Systems Division, you will lead the space segment technical team and be responsible for systems analysis and trades, coordinating space segment engineering activities, and managing technical baselines.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and optimize space vehicle design, processing, and mission success
  • Troubleshoot and develop solutions to complex problems that the program may encounter
  • Develop, author, and/or provide input to major program data products and other deliverables
  • Technical management of program elements, including planning and conducting technical reviews and technical baselines
  • Mentor, coach, train, guide, direct, and advise junior staff
  • Able to recognize and mitigate technical issues and risks while operating within budget and on schedule
Requirements:
  • Active U.S. Government DoD Top Secret security clearance at time of application, current and within scope, with the ability to obtain and maintain SCI approval/access
  • Bachelor's in Engineering, Physics, or related STEM Degree with 8 years of experience in a related engineering field such as mechanical, electrical, aerospace, and/or operations, or a Master's Degree and 6 years of applicable experience
  • Extensive technical experience in systems engineering and integration of complex systems, including space systems development, manufacture, test, or operations, including previous technical or project leadership positions
  • Understanding of spacecraft detailed design, integration & test, and complete understanding and wide application of technical principles, theories, and concepts in the field
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Active or current TS/SCI U.S. Government Security Clearance
  • Experience in system architecture & CONOPs development
  • Experience with Integration & Test of spacecraft systems
  • Experience with various technical tools such as MATLAB, STK, CORE, DOORS, or CAMEO
  • Experience and/or training in Earned Value Management Systems
