We are looking for a reliable, responsible, hard working, caring, Jesus loving individual to add to our team. Applicants must have a great love and patience for children. Must be knowledgeable about appropriate transitions for young children and help run a structured and on-schedule classroom independently. The goal is to contribute to the whole (social, emotional, and physical) well-being of each child.

About the position: This position would be a lead teacher for our 2 year old's class. The curriculum themes, letters, Bible stories, and verses are already mapped for the whole school year. Although it is mapped out we leave room for teachers to add in their own activities. We need an experienced teacher who knows how to run a class with lots of different personalities and needs and knows how to meet the kids at their level. While we do follow a curriculum for this age group but a big part of the 2's class is working on language development and social and emotional skills.

Responsibilities


  • Maintain healthy and professional relationships with all children, parents and other teachers
  • Update parents through Procare on daily activities throughout the shift
  • Collaborate with other teachers as needed
  • Observe each child to help them improve their social competencies and build self-esteem and communication skills
  • Encourage children to interact with each other and resolve disagreements
  • Guide children to develop their artistic and practical capabilities through a carefully constructed curriculum (identify shapes, numbers or colors, do crafts etc.)
  • Assist during nap times, snack, and meal times ensuring children are safe and cared for at all times
  • Maintain a clean and tidy classroom consistent with health and safety standards
  • Must be comfortable and confident managing a classroom independently
  • Must know and follow state and ICCP safe sleep guidelines

Requirements

  • Already have or be able to pass an enhanced background check through Health and Welfare
  • Need to have or be able to obtain Pediatric CPR and First Aid certification
Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $12.00 - $13.00 per hour
