Sexton Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery in Memphis is searching for a skilled Oral Surgery Scheduler to serve as the coordinator for schedules and appointments between doctors and patients. Our core belief is putting the patient’s needs first, and it underlies every aspect of our practice.


A bilingual, English and Spanish speaking team member is preferred.


Duties and Responsibilities

  • Operate telephone switchboard to answer, screen, and forward calls, provide information to and take messages from patients, visitors, and other interested parties.
  • Greet all visitors and callers in a polite and courteous manner while answering their inquiries.
  • File and maintain all patient records.
  • Collect, sort, distribute, and prepare mail, messages, and courier deliveries.
  • Provide information about the practice to patients and visitors.
  • Schedule and confirm appointments with patients.
  • Accept and record payments via telephone.
  • Record patient information and complete appropriate forms necessary to schedule an appointment.
  • Be knowledgeable in the operation and maintenance of equipment in the front desk.
  • Must always represent the practice in a professional, pleasant, and cooperative manner.
  • Must be able to comfortably and efficiently handle multiple deadlines and task assignments.
  • Must be able to work both independently and cooperatively in team settings.
  • Must demonstrate excellent communication skills by talking to others to convey information effectively.
  • Completely cross-train to assume all front office positions that report to the front office manager.
  • Occasionally there will be some required travel to the Tipton County location if necessary.
  • Additional responsibilities as needed and as appropriate.
Requirements:
  • Bilingual (English and Spanish speaking) is preferred.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Two years of administrative experience preferred.
  • Oral Surgery office experience is not required, but preferred.
  • Always maintain the highest level of confidentiality to HIPAA standards.
  • Adhere to strict safety guidelines and procedures to OSHA and office standards.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Detail oriented while working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Flexibility to understand that job duties may change from time to time and that this individual may be asked to assist in other areas of the office.
