As the Engineer Technician I, this role is responsible for the maintenance, repair and setup of production equipment. Follow all written procedures and can train the production personnel of proper and safe machinery operation and setup. Also, to assist with special technical projects within the facility.

5 Key Roles of Responsibility

1. MAINTAIN COOPERATIVE DIPLOMATIC WORKING RELATIONSHIP WITH COWORKERS SUPERVISOR AND PUBLIC
2. SUPPORT OF PRODUCTION DEPARTMENT IN DAILY MACHINE OPERATION.
3. RESPONSIBLE FOR MAINTAINING A CLEAN AND SAFE WORK ENVIRONMENT AND REPORTING ISSUES IMMEDIATELY.
4. FOLLOWS PREVENTATIVE MAINTENANCE PROCEDURES AND MAKES NECESSARY REPAIRS.
5. WORKS IN COMPLIANCE WITH ALL WRITTEN DOCUMENTATION.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Maintain cooperative, diplomatic working relationships with co-workers, supervisor and the public.
• Work as part of the team and collaborate with co-workers and colleagues.
• Responsible for reading, understanding and following Quality Business Systems documentation for each function performed.
• Responsible for working in compliance with Quality Systems Regulations (QSR), safety and all other training.

Equipment Maintenance

• Must have high level of problem-solving skills in dealing with production related equipment to minimize downtime and possible safety issues.
• Evaluates production line machinery and makes necessary repairs or recommends solutions to the problems.

Follows preventative maintenance procedures and evaluates them for missing or un-needed steps to streamline the process. Ensures maintenance records are completed accurately.

Equipment Support

• Support the production department in daily machine operation to ensure that jobs are started, performed and finished in the time frame that is allotted.
• Support the Engineering Department with design, assembly, setup, debugging, and installation of process and assembly fixtures and equipment.
• Communicates all findings with the Engineering Department so that all findings or issues are documented and resolved.
• Revises documentation to reflect the current and best practices.

Equipment Setup

• Performs setup and changeover of production equipment per Manufacturing Instructions.
• Must be able to train production personnel the operation and changeover process and advise on possible improvements to the process to increase productivity and quality.

Safety

• Responsible for maintaining a clean and safe work environment by identifying all safety hazards and recommending corrective actions when necessary.
• Is a role model on the production floor and making sure that others around you are performing their jobs safely and correctly.
• Responsible for utilizing proper lifting and material movement techniques at all times.
• Adheres to and supports BioFilm’s Corporate Policies and Procedures.

Process Improvements

• Actively works to improve all processes in the company.
• Supports Engineering Department with the development and implementation of manufacturing processes and related engineering activities. Support new packaging process development as well as existing production initiatives.
• Performs all other related job duties as assigned by the Engineering Technical Supervisor.

Safety

• Responsible for maintaining a clean and safe work environment by identifying all safety hazards and recommending corrective actions when necessary.
• Responsible for utilizing proper lifting and material movement techniques at all times.
• Responsible for reporting all work-related injuries to Human Resources.

• Pay attention to work process, your surroundings, and co-workers to flag any unsafe conditions or behavior

Quality

• Monitor product quality and flag any defects immediately to supervisor
• Identify and report potential regulatory compliance issues (lack of cGMP conditions, quality system non-compliance, etc)

SUPERVISION RECEIVED:

Works under the general supervision of the Engineering Technical Supervisor

LEADERSHIP RESPONSIBLITIES:

This position does not directly supervise other employees and therefore does not have authority or responsibility for performing the supervisory functions of hiring, evaluating, disciplining, terminating or approving employee transactions.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

• MINIMUM THREE (3) YEARS EXPERIENCE WITH USING SAE AND METRIC HAND TOOLS.
• MINIMUM THREE (3) YEARS MAINTAINING FACILITY AND MANUFACTURING EQUIPMENT WHICH UTILIZE PLC OR CONTROLLED MECHANICAL PNEUMATIC AND HYDRAULIC SYSTEMS.
• MUST BE COMPETENT AT READING BLUEPRINTS AND SCHEMATIC DIAGRAMS.
• MUST HAVE KNOWLEDGE OF THE FOLLOWING EQUIPMENT: BOTTLE FILLING, TUBE FILLING, BOX ERECTING AND CLOSING MACHINES, HEATING, AC AND / OR VENTILATION EQUIPMENT.
• CGMP AND/OR FDA EXPERIENCE A PLUS.
• HIGH SCHOOL DIPLOMA WITH FOUR (4) YEARS OF EXPERIENCE IN VARIOUS ENGINEERING FIELDS RELATING TO MANUFACTURING, QUALITY CONTROL, EQUIPMENT DESIGN, FACILITIES AND PROCESS DEVELOPMENT.
• ELECTRONIC TECHNOLOGY OR MANUFACTURING TECHNOLOGY OR EQUIVALENT EXPERIENCE PREFERRED.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

• ABILITY TO READ, WRITE AND SPEAK FLUENT ENGLISH.

JUDGMENT/REASONING ABILITY:

• ABLE TO RECOGNIZE AND RESOLVE PROBLEMS QUICKLY USING SOUND JUDGMENT AND DIPLOMACY.

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

• PROFICIENT IN MICROSOFT OFFICE; EXCEL, WORD, POWER POINT.
