Nielson Companies are hiring a Trucking Foreman to join our team The Trucking Foreman will oversee all trucking operations for Nielson Companies and all related business entities. The primary responsibility of the Trucking Foreman is to ensure the efficient and safe operation of all trucks and equipment under the position’s supervision. The Trucking Foreman will be tasked with scheduling, dispatching, and monitoring deliveries, as well as managing a team of drivers to ensure adherence to company policies, regulations, and safety standards. A valid Class-A CDL is required.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Direct and coordinate the activities of drivers and support staff across all divisions to ensure the timely and efficient delivery of goods.
  • Research and implement relevant fleet management software to increase efficiency across the division.
  • Assist with the maintenance program for trucks and equipment, ensuring that they are always in safe working condition.
  • Train employees and enforce safety regulations and protocols, conducting regular safety meetings and inspections to mitigate risks and prevent accidents.
  • Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations governing the transportation industry. This includes licensing, permits, and hours-of-service requirements.
  • Foster positive relationships with customers by addressing inquiries, resolving issues, and ensuring a high level of service delivery.
  • Monitor expenses related to trucking operations, including fuel, maintenance, and personnel costs and identify opportunities for cost savings.
  • Address any operational issues or challenges that arise during transportation, finding practical solutions to minimize disruptions and delays.
  • Assist with the hiring process for all employees in the trucking division.
  • Move and deliver various products and equipment to job sites or customers.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor’s degree in related field preferred.
  • Five years of experience in fleet management and maintenance with two years in a supervisory role required.
  • Valid driver license and Class A CDL are required.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of trucking regulations and safety standards.
  • Proficiency in computer systems and transportation management software.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
