Role Overview

Lead position for inspecting and testing SMT circuits in a fast paced environment. Rework as necessary. First article testing and validation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Inspect, and rework if necessary, printed circuit boards and mounted components for compliance to IPC-610 standards
  • Use various tools and equipment to test functional specifications
  • Accurately repairing/removing and replacing SMT components at efficient production speed without damaging sensitive components and boards
  • Solder components, wires, etc. onto circuit boards
  • By soldering, using bare wire, join similar boards together
  • Reads work orders, follows production drawings and sample assemblies, or receives verbal instructions regarding duties to be performed.
  • Performs on-line go/no-go testing and inspection, using visual magnifying devices, measuring instruments, and electronic test equipment, to ensure parts and assemblies meet production specifications and standards.
  • Perform inspection operations under stereo microscope or other magnifying device for sustained periods.
  • Rework, as necessary, boards and mounted components for compliance to IPC-610 standards.

Other Qualifications & Experience

  • Good finger dexterity and good eye-hand coordination
  • Must be able to read and write in English language and accurately perform basic math problems
  • Surface Mount Technology (SMT) electronic component assembly
  • IPC-610 training/certification
  • Hot air rework station
  • Pneumatic solder paste
  • Electronic testing (DVM)
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience performing detailed inspection
  • 2-3 years experience in hand placement and soldering in production
  • Understand job packet documentation (routings and Bills of Materials)
  • Basic electronic configuration recognition
  • ESD protection knowledge
  • Able to lift 25 lbs.
