Job Description:

The estimator position provides customer proposals in accordance with the provided specifications and industry standards. While meeting company timelines and profit targets.


Essential Functions of the Position:

  • Comply with all Feldmeier safety and Company policies and Occupational Health and Safety Regulations.
  • Review customer RFQ’s both for commercial and technical analysis.
  • Prepare proposals in the required timeframe to meet customer specifications.
  • Facilitate customer requests and changes regarding scope, delivery, and commercial aspects.
  • Follow up on proposals prepared to determine outcome/success.
  • Establish new customer relationships through networking.
  • Follow projects from conception to completion.
  • Work with other colleagues in purchasing,engineering, and manufacturing.
  • Work as customer liaison during project development.
  • Establish and maintain vendor/ customer relationships.
  • Review all closed projects/ proposals for accuracy and profitability.
Requirements:


Minimum Qualifications:

  • 2-year degree or applicable experience
  • Strong communication skills
  • Excellent analytical and mathematical abilities
  • Background in engineering or manufacturing a plus

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering
  • Background in engineering or manufacturing

Physical Requirements:

  • Required to sit, stand, and walk; for up to 8 hours per day.
  • Continuous use of the hand, arm, and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, telephone, and other office equipment.
  • Ability to lift up to 20 pounds occasionally.
  • Ability to communicate professionally, in written and oral communications.
