Hourly Rate: $23.00 - $25.00 (Maximum hourly rate)

Contract Length: 3 Months Temp to Perm

Location: Onsite (Remote possibility for the right candidate, must be located in Texas)

Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Inpatient Medical Coder to join our team for a 3-month contract with the option to extend. The ideal candidate will have at least three years of experience in inpatient medical coding, with a specific focus on day surgery, observation, and injection and infusion procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

- Reviewing patient medical records to accurately assign diagnostic and procedural codes according to ICD-10-CM and CPT guidelines.

- Ensuring coding compliance with federal regulations and hospital policies.

- Collaborating with healthcare providers and other staff to clarify documentation and resolve coding discrepancies.

- Meeting productivity and accuracy standards set by the department.

- Participating in coding audits and quality improvement initiatives as needed.

Requirements:

- Minimum of three years of inpatient medical coding experience.

- Proficiency in assigning ICD-10-CM diagnosis codes and CPT procedure codes.

- Experience with day surgery, observation, and injection and infusion coding required.

- Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) certification preferred.

- Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.

- Must be located in Texas; onsite work preferred.
