Job DescriptionJob Description

Primary Function: Life Skills Program Facilitators are certified teachers or school faculty members, or professionals in preferred areas such as guidance counseling, behavior intervention, mental health, or counseling. These facilitators deliver activities aimed at empowering our members to utilize life skills and awareness, enabling them to navigate challenges they may encounter in high school or beyond. The 21st CCLC Life Skills programming assists middle school students in transitioning to high school and then college or other career paths. These life skills are intentionally implemented to enhance our members' personal responsibility, positive character traits, problem-solving abilities, and citizenship.

Key Roles (Essential Responsibilities):
· Ensures the success and operation of the 21st Century Community Learning Center educational program at Boys & Girls Clubs of Palm Beach County.

· Provides Life- Skills and enrichment instruction to an identified cohort of students.

· Works collaboratively with the 21st Century Community Learning Center team to ensure objectives and expected outcomes are met.

· Works collaboratively with members and community partners to support mental health awareness monthly campaigns.

· Required to complete training in Mental Health and First Aid and Trauma-Informed Care.

· Identifies members in need of additional mental health intervention and provides service linkage to community partners.

· Administers surveys and assessments, as needed.

· Maintains consistent communication with supervisor related to the 21st CCLC Life Skills program.

· Stimulates and encourages interest in education and Character -development activities and encourages participation by all members.

· Requests needed supplies using the Purchase Order form.

· Maintains a system of internal evaluation including individual student records, report cards, attendance, and progress reports.

· Creates and maintains Life Skills curriculum and lesson plans.

· Participates in staff meetings.

· Enforces Boys & Girls Clubs policies and program guidelines.

Relationships:
· Internal: Maintain close, daily contact with Club staff (professional and volunteer), Club members, and supervisor to receive/provide information, discuss issues, explain guidelines/instructions; instruct; and advise.

· External: Maintain contact and build relationships with community groups, school staff and community volunteers, and donors to support program success.

Skills & Knowledge Required:
· BA/BS Degree from an accredited, four-year university or college

· Must have a valid Florida Educator Certificate in any subject area or professional experience in the following areas:

• Guidance Counseling

• Counseling

• Life Coaching

• Behavior Interventionist or Specialist

• Psychology

• Social Work

• Human Services

• Casa management

• Mental health

• Trauma Informed-Care

• Teen Services

· Experience with Project Based Learning and curriculum development.

· Willingness to think outside the box; very energetic; a motivator.

· Excellent verbal and written communication & computer skills (Microsoft Word and Excel required).

· Strong analytical skills with attention to detail.

· Ability to meet deadlines with severe time constraints.

· Ability to use and incorporate computer-based platforms.

· Experience working with ELL/ESOL students preferred.
