About You

Main Responsibilities
Coordinate transportation logistics and manage schedules:
- Schedule and plan transportation routes for inbound goods and support outbound operations at all warehouse locations.
- Arrange transportation services within budget and freight allowance percentages.
- Ensure that transportation operations adhere to safety regulations and company policies.
- Create necessary customs paperwork for customs clearance (outbound and international exports).
- Develop and maintain transportation schedules to ensure timely delivery of goods.
- Monitor and track transportation activities to identify and address any delays or issues.
- Communicate with drivers, carriers, and other stakeholders to provide updates on schedules and any changes.
Ensuring compliance, administrative:
- Stay up-to-date on transportation regulations and industry standards.
- Ensure that all transportation activities comply with local, province, state, and federal regulations.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation related to transportation activities.
- Expense code invoices, approve within approval limits and obtain approvals above signatory limits.
- Manage the flow of paperwork through supply chain, warehouse through to finance.
Problem-solving and coordinating with other departments:
- Address any issues or concerns that arise during transportation operations, such as delays, route changes, or vehicle breakdowns.
- Work closely with drivers, carriers, and other stakeholders to resolve problems and minimize disruptions to transportation schedules.
- Collaborate with purchasing, warehouse, and customer service, to coordinate transportation activities and ensure alignment with overall business objectives.
- Communicate transportation requirements and updates to relevant stakeholders to facilitate smooth operations.
Continuous improvement:
- Identify opportunities to optimize transportation processes and improve efficiency.
- Implement improvements, such as route optimization software or process enhancements, to enhance transportation operations and reduce costs.
- Keeping up to date on industry standards and trends in procurement.
Requirements
Requirements:
- Experience in transportation and logistics in a manufacturing or distribution environment.
- Proven experience in transportation coordination, logistics management, or a related field.
- Strong knowledge of transportation regulations and industry best practices.
- Proficiency in transportation management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain management, business administration, or related field (preferred).
- Professional certification in APICS and CPIM will be an added benefit.
