Scope of Position


Our client's Engineering Department has an opportunity for the Electrical and Instrumentation Project Leader role, focusing on all areas of operation within their manufacturing plant. The selected individual will have responsibility for planning, scheduling, and implementing electrical and instrumentation control projects across the plant. This will include (but not be limited to) other core functions such as E&I trainer and qualifier, Electrical and Mechanical drawings coordinator, change control, and Arc Flash Safety Program owner. The selected candidate will report to the Sr. Controls Engineer. This role will primarily be on a 5-day (Monday through Friday) schedule, but flexibility is necessary for training, qualifications, or project support. Successful candidates will have effective communication, project management, advanced electrical skills, NFPA 70E expertise, and troubleshooting skills. This candidate will have consistently demonstrated leadership in their area of responsibility and a willingness to help in all areas of plant operations.


Skills Criteria

The ideal candidates will possess the following skills:

  • Demonstrated strong troubleshooting ability
  • Demonstrated implementation of improvement opportunities
  • Demonstrated advanced leadership
  • Electrical design, including elementary and single-line drawings
  • Demonstrated expertise in both process and packing E&I technology
  • Demonstrated AutoCAD skills, one-line drawings, and elementary drawings.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of safe electrical work
  • Monitoring Warehouse E&I projects to ensure plant standards and documentation are met
  • Lead and Assist groups and projects during plant shutdowns



Responsibilities


Leadership for E&I Skilled Technicians

  • Effectively coach E&Is to continue to build skill level
  • Provide on-the-job training, coaching, and skills necessary to be successful in the role
  • Availability to help with troubleshooting plant-related issues to not only resolve the issue but build the skill of other E&Is
  • Support capital project requests and in the submission of projects


Engineering Department

  • Attend change control as the E&I approver
  • Member of the team evaluating options for the future of the plant control system
  • Manage and facilitate the interface with Jetson for E&I drawing updates, Instrument Tag # assignments, and Scheme number assignments. Update electrical as builds in AutoCAD
  • Update/reconcile our plant electrical standards with new technologies in the plant


Training

  • Drawings class for E&Is importance of drawings, plant drawing control system, standards, P&IDs, Single Line
  • Trainer for P&ID ED and SLD drawings portion of the step-up card
  • Qualifier for PLC Data File, P&ID instruction, Drive Interface, and PSU inspection for the step-up card
  • Train E&I personnel on the Water Reclamation System.
