Prepress Technician

 The Prepress Technician is responsible for supporting the effort of the Prepress Specialist in the accurate evaluation and proofing  of customer-supplied artwork to ensure a press ready product. S/he/they will help support internal system data input and will work closely with our creative team on various projects. S/he/they will provide precise file output of that artwork for subsequent processing in a manner that meets or exceeds customer specifications. This position reports to the Plant Manager.  

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assist in order management and flow through the facility by creating tickets and reports within LabelTraxx software
• Evaluate (preflight), customer supplied graphics files
• Compare preflight findings to identified specifications from corresponding prep memos
• Create imposed layouts and project folders and manage project file content
• Create proofs and submit approval documentation
• Manipulate files to match specifications
• File output to rip
• Confirm graphics to die line fit and evaluate graphic orientation to die orientation
• Create, manipulate and attach variable data files to artwork
• Retrofit artwork between dielines
• Other duties as assigned  

REQUIREMENTS

• 3+ years of direct professional experience
• Proficiency in one or more design programs (ie. Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign etc)
• Cannabis and/or packaging experience highly desired
• Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
