About the role:


We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized individual to join our healthcare team as Medical Insurance Verification Specialist, Benefits, and Authorizations Specialist. As a vital member of our Patient Access Team, the successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring that patients have access to the medical services they need by verifying eligibility, coordinating benefits, and obtaining necessary authorizations for services.

Location & Hours: ONSITE


  • This is a full-time, non-exempt position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday
  • 7:30am – 5:00pm but may vary. Occasional overtime may be required.
  • Job Type: Full-Time
  • Expected hours: 40hrs per week
  • Location: ONSITE at Corporate Office - Oakbrook, Illinois 60523

 

Responsibilities:


  • Verify patient insurance coverage and benefits.
  • Communicate with insurance companies to obtain pre-authorizations.
  • Review and update patient information for accuracy.
  • Ensure compliance with insurance regulations and company policies.
  • Assist in resolving any insurance-related issues or discrepancies.
  • Maintain detailed records of insurance verifications and authorizations.
  • Experience navigating through payer portals obtaining insurance benefits.
  • Accurately record pertinent information in EHR.

Qualifications and Education:

  • Proficiency in medical terminology a plus.
  • Previous experience in insurance verification, preferably in a medical office setting.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of Insurance Plans (PPO, HMO, MCO, Medicare, Medicaid, Replacement Plans, Supplemental Plans)
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in eligibility, benefits, and authorizations.
  • One of the following
    • Two (2) plus years of pre-authorization of insurance verification work in of the following areas: Medical & Behavioral Health)
  • EPIC Experience Preferred
  • High school diploma
