TITLE: Senior Accountant Assistant
DEPARTMENT: Accounting
REPORTS TO: Senior Accountant
FLSA STATUS: Salary, Exempt
SUMMARY: Assist the Senior Accountant in managing the day-to-day operations of the accounting department.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Assist the Senior Accountant with overseeing the activities of the accounting department for the accurate and timely dissemination of financial management reports including, but not limited to, internal and external monthly financial statements, annual audits, and budgets.
· Sorts and files all vendor packing slips from the Purchasing Department.
· Matches all vendor invoices to packing slips and enters into accounting system.
· Reviews invoices for appropriate documentation and approval prior to payment.
· Codes and summarizes various monthly transactions and enters into accounting system.
· Answers all vendor and customer inquiries.
· Processes weekly check runs.
· In charge of all A/R collections.
· Handles Customer billings/intercompany billings.
· Create and send all intercompany PO’s.
· Submit Sales and Use Tax.
· Assist in Credit Management.
· Perform other duties as required and assigned by management.
Qualifications
· General knowledge of accounting and understanding of the general ledger and how they relate to invoices.
· Working knowledge of MS office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
· Working knowledge of Peachtree and Navision Accounting system.
· Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills.
· Punctual.
