Key Responsibilities:

  • Create and Review Design Documentation: Develop comprehensive drawings, reports, and design documents across multiple sectors such as commercial, residential, aviation, aerospace, education, defense, energy, and manufacturing.
  • Structural Analysis and Design: Perform thorough calculations and analyses for various structural materials, including steel, concrete, masonry, timber, aluminum, and light-gauge steel.
  • Collaborate with Stakeholders: Work closely with architects, engineers, contractors, fabricators, owners, and clients to ensure successful project outcomes.
  • Onsite Assessments: Conduct engineering evaluations and observations directly at project sites.
  • Construction Administration: Address and resolve any design or construction issues that arise, ensuring smooth project execution.
  • Team Leadership: Oversee and guide junior and mid-level engineers, fostering a culture of collaboration and innovation within the team.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Educational Background: A Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering is required.
  • Professional Experience: 10-15 years of professional experience, specifically focused on the design of structural infrastructure projects.
  • Licensure: Must hold a Professional Engineering (PE) license.
  • Industry Standards Knowledge: Strong familiarity with key industry standards, including the American Institute of Steel Construction (AISC) steel manual, American Concrete Institute (ACI) code 318, American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) 7, and International Building Code (IBC).
  • Software Proficiency: Competence in using software such as Revit, AutoCAD, RAM Elements, STAAD Pro, RISA-3D, or equivalent analysis tools.
  • Advanced Structural Engineering Skills: Expertise in advanced structural engineering concepts such as Finite Element Analysis (FEA), post-tensioning, progressive collapse, and blast analysis/design.
  • Permitting and Regulatory Processes: Understanding of the processes governed by permitting agencies, including building and environmental departments.
  • Interdisciplinary Understanding: Familiarity with related disciplines such as architecture, site civil, mechanical, electrical, piping, fire protection, geotechnical, surveying, and environmental engineering.
  • Project Management Experience: Proven experience in managing major construction projects, encompassing aspects like estimating, cost control, scheduling, and contractor management.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills, essential for interacting with various stakeholders and team members.

  • Ability to Pass Air Force Background Check: Applicants who can pass the comprehensive background check required by the Air Force will be given priority.
  • Willingness to Work Extended Hours and Weekends: Candidates who are prepared to work extended hours and weekends as needed will be prioritized in the selection process.
