Since 1985, Albuquerque Health Care for the Homeless has dedicated its mission exclusively to providing services to people experiencing homelessness.  AHCH provides a distinctive continuum of integrated care through outreach and site-based services to address the health-related causes and consequences of homelessness.  Our vision is to live in a world that is just and without homelessness.  We believe that homelessness is an issue that can be solved through access to quality health care, adequate and affordable housing, and a living wage.


Do you have a passion for client care? We may be the right fit for you We are currently looking for an upbeat medical assistant to join our team. Our ideal candidate would be a team player and have previous experience in an underserved population. Compassion for and an understanding of the wide variety of issues for those experiencing homelessness is a must. 


Our MA team works in rotating schedules doing Outreach work in the field, in the Clinic, working at our Clinical Front Desk, and on designated Administrative shifts. We work from a harm reduction model and believe in meeting people where they are at. We view client care holistically and connect clients to various resources within our organization and without. Minimum Qualifications:


  • Graduation from an accredited medical assistant program
  • Flexible work schedule
  • Lab experience
  • Vitals experience
  • Experience in patient scheduling and patient rooming


Preferred Qualifications: 


  • Experience working in a primary care setting with under-served populations or people experiencing homelessness
  • Knowledge of harm reduction and trauma informed philosophies
  • Experience working with an EMR
  • Spanish Speaking
