Job Description: To plan and supervise the daily maintenance services of the school campuses, to ensure that all facilities, equipment, and mechanical systems are properly functioning and operating.
Qualifications: Any combination of education, experience, and training that would provide the required knowledge and abilities. Self-starter with proven analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Excellent leadership skills as demonstrated by attendance, work ethic, and job performance. Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain high profile, influential, and collaborative working relationships across teams, functions, and layers with school staff, public officials, vendors and the general public. Ability to communicate effectively and professionally, both orally and in writing.
Reports to: The Director
Job Responsibilities: (May include, but are not limited to)
- Plans, directs, and supervises the activities of the schools' maintenance contract staff including landscaping, equipment, and buildings maintenance. Reviews and coordinates with the Director, Associate Director, and On-Site Coordinators regarding work orders, assigned tasks, and make recommendations to improve operational efficiency.
- Analyzes maintenance and repair problems and implements plans and/or procedures to resolve issues in coordination with short and long term facility plans.
- Coordinates maintenance and alteration projects with school administrators and custodial services, communicating as appropriate recommending contracts for work by outside contractors including supervision of work in progress, inspection of completed work and approval of disbursements if directed.
- In collaboration with the Director and/or Associate Director, develops and conducts school-wide maintenance training programs including the identification and facilitation of building operational issues in coordination with the On-Site Coordinators and correct usage of equipment, supplies, and materials.
- Specifies, stores, inspects and inventories maintenance equipment, supplies, and materials regularly.
- Maintains awareness of federal, state, and local rules and regulations regarding facility operations and maintenance, and establishes operating practices and procedures to insure compliance.
- Works with the Director and/or Associate Director to select, train, cross-train, and evaluate maintenance & operations personnel.
- Ability to be on call for emergency situations for the purpose of resolving immediate safety concerns.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Must have a Valid AZ Fingerprint Clearance Card, be able to pass a Criminal Background Check & Provide 3 Professional References.
