Job Description: Front Desk/ Leasing Agent

PEG Property Group is a growing company headquartered in beautiful Provo, Utah. We specialize in the management of hospitality, multifamily and commercial properties. The Front Desk Agent represents the hotel to the guest throughout all stages of the guest's stay. Verifies the guest's method of payment and follows established credit-checking procedures. Answers questions about hotel and local area and attractions. Adheres to all brand standards as it relates to front office processes and procedures. Accurately posts charges to guest rooms. Communicates with all departments in the hotel to ensure an exceptional experience for the guest.

Hospitality job duties include but are not limited to:

  • Register guests and assigns rooms. Accommodates special requests whenever possible.
  • Assists in pre-registration and blocking of rooms for reservations.
  • Thoroughly understand and adhere to proper credit and cash handling policies and procedures.
  • Knows room locations, types of rooms available, and room rates.
  • Must be sales minded. Presents options and alternatives to guests and helps in making choices. Uses suggestive selling techniques to sell rooms and to promote other services of the hotel.
  • Works closely with the housekeeping department in keeping room status reports up to date and coordinates requests for maintenance and repair work.
  • Uses proper telephone etiquette.
  • Performs cashiering tasks like bill/invoice settlement, posting charges to the guest, paid outs.
  • Communicate services and amenities of the hotel to guests.
  • Obtain proper identification for tax-exempt guests and attach the form to registration card.
  • Reads and initials the pass-on log and bulletin board daily. Is aware of daily activities and meetings taking place in the hotel.
  • Attends department meetings.
  • Reports any unusual occurrences or requests to the manager or assistant manager.
  • Knows all safety and emergency procedures, is aware of accident prevention policies.
  • Maintains the cleanliness and neatness of the front desk area.
  • Other duties as necessary and assigned by management.

Extended stay job duties include but are not limited to:

  • Initiative in sales and marketing techniques
  • Property social media, reputation management and satisfaction ratings
  • Managing waitlists, shows, applications, resident interviews, agreements, pre-inspections, move-ins resident relations, vacancies, and renewals.
  • Efficiently update and maintain market survey and marketing action reports.
  • Manage quality control of data in our property management software.
  • Improve and/or maintain occupancy levels to exceed budget projections.
  • Ability to generate reports and explain leasing status efforts and accomplishments.
  • Maintaining compliance with all applicable laws, codes, etc.

Additional knowledge/experience:

  • Expert in Microsoft Office applications, Clock, Revinate, STR, Yardi and/or Entrata
  • Superb written and verbal skills
  • Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent work experience
  • Recent Fair Housing and industry training.

Physical Characteristics

The position requires the following:

  • 80% office work (meetings, phone, computer, etc.)
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license and be insurable for company vehicles.
  • Standard vision, with or without corrective eyewear
  • Standard hearing, with or without a hearing aid
  • Ability to climb one flight of stairs and the ability to walk a half mile per property approx. once per week.
