SUMMARY OF POSITION:

The Vice President of Sales is responsible for leading the sales team to achieve revenue targets, developing and executing the company’s sales strategy, and driving sustainable growth. This role requires a seasoned leader with a deep understanding of market dynamics, customer needs, and a proven track record of building and managing high-performance teams.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Sales Strategy Development:

  • Jointly develop and implement a comprehensive sales strategy that aligns with the CEO’s vision and overall business objectives.
  • Identify new market opportunities and ensure the sales team is focused on their specific territories, grow white space, work with product to ensure strong
  • Analyze market trends and adapt the sales approach to meet changing customer needs.

Team Leadership and Development:

  • Recruit, train, and mentor a high-performing sales team.
  • Establish performance metrics, monitor sales activities, and ensure that individual and team goals are met or exceeded.
  • Foster a positive and collaborative team environment that encourages professional growth and high morale.

Revenue Growth:

  • Drive the achievement of sales targets and ensure consistent revenue growth.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to develop lead generation strategies and optimize the sales funnel.
  • Develop and manage key customer relationships and participate in closing strategic opportunities.

Sales Operations Management:

  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the sales department, including budgeting, forecasting, and reporting.
  • Implement and manage sales processes and tools that improve efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Ensure compliance with sales policies, procedures, and best practices.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

  • Work closely with other departments such as Marketing, Product Development, and Customer Success to ensure alignment and support for sales initiatives.
  • Provide feedback to the product development team regarding customer needs and market trends.

Customer Engagement:

  • Engage with key customers and partners to build and maintain strong relationships.
  • Act as an advocate for customers within the organization, ensuring their needs and expectations are met.

Reporting and Analytics:

  • Develop and deliver regular reports on sales performance, market trends, and competitive analysis to the executive team.
  • Use data-driven insights to inform sales strategies and decisions.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE):

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Marketing, or a related field. An MBA or advanced degree is preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience in K-12 Food Service Space
  • Sales Experience in this space a must, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Proven track record of achieving goals and targets in a similar industry.
  • Experience in building and managing high-performance teams, with diverse personalities.
  • Significant experience in customer interaction and creative solutions in achieving their goals with our product line.
  • Strong leadership and people management skills
  • Ability to create a strategic and comprehensive sales and marketing plan, incorporating companies overall vison and strategies
  • Ability to execute to that sales and marketing plan
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation abilities.
  • Strategic thinker with a strong business acumen.
  • Technology Literate, ability to absorb existing software and new software including sales management software.
  • Ability to analyze complex data and translate it into actionable strategies.
