Job DescriptionJob Description

The MuskuloSkeletal Intervention Specialist is responsible for ensuring the physical well-being of employees within a specific workplace. You will work to prevent injuries, provide immediate care for workplace injuries, and promote overall health and fitness among employees.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Injury Prevention:
  • Develop and implement injury prevention programs and strategies tailored to the specific workplace.
  • Conduct ergonomic assessments to identify potential hazards and recommend corrective actions.
  • Provide guidance on proper body mechanics and techniques to reduce the risk of injuries.
  • First Aid and Immediate Care:
  • Administer first aid and immediate care to employees who sustain workplace injuries or illnesses.
  • Assess the severity of injuries and refer employees to appropriate medical professionals as needed.
  • Maintain accurate records of all injuries, treatments, and follow-up care.
  • Fitness and Rehabilitation:
  • Create fitness and conditioning programs for employees to improve their physical health and reduce the risk of injuries.
  • Design and supervise rehabilitation programs for employees recovering from workplace injuries.
  • Monitor progress and adjust fitness and rehabilitation plans accordingly.
  • Education and Training:
  • Conduct training sessions and workshops on topics related to injury prevention, fitness, and health.
  • Educate employees about proper warm-up and stretching techniques.
  • Provide guidance on maintaining a healthy lifestyle both at work and outside of work.
  • Documentation and Reporting:
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all interactions with employees, including injury assessments and treatment plans.
  • Prepare and submit regular reports on injury trends, prevention initiatives, and program effectiveness.
  • Collaboration:
  • Collaborate with other occupational health and safety professionals, including physicians, nurses, and other athletic trainers, to ensure comprehensive employee care.
  • Work closely with management and HR teams to develop and enforce workplace safety policies and procedures.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Athletic Training or a related field.
  • Certification as a Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC) from the National Athletic Trainers' Association (NATA).
  • State licensure or certification as required by the state in which you practice.
  • CPR and First Aid certification.
  • Strong knowledge of human anatomy, physiology, and biomechanics.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Experience in occupational health and safety is a plus.
