Job DescriptionJob DescriptionSalary:

Job Summary: The accounting clerk is responsible for assisting with the day-to-day accounting operations of the company (specifically Accounts Receivable). This includes processing transactions, reconciling accounts, preparing reports, and providing general support to the accounting team.


Key Responsibilities:


Accounts Receivable:

  • Generate and send out invoices to customers.
  • Monitor customer accounts for payments and follow up on overdue accounts.
  • Post and reconcile payments to customer accounts.
  • Prepare and send customer account statements.


General Ledger:

  • Assist with month-end and year-end closing procedures.
  • Reconcile bank statements and other general ledger accounts.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of financial transactions.


Data Entry and Record-Keeping:

  • Enter financial data into accounting software or spreadsheets.
  • Maintain electronic and physical filing systems for financial records.
  • Ensure data integrity and accuracy in financial records.


Reporting:

  • Assist in preparing financial reports such as balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
  • Generate ad-hoc reports as requested by management.


Assistance and Support:

  • Provide support to the accounting team as needed.
  • Assist with audits by providing necessary documentation and information.
  • Respond to inquiries from vendors, customers, and internal stakeholders regarding financial transactions.


Qualifications and Skills:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's degree in accounting or related field preferred.
  • Proven experience in an accounting or finance role, preferably as an accounting clerk or similar position.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel, and accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP).
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of basic accounting principles and practices.


Working Conditions:

  • Typical office environment.
  • Regular working hours with occasional overtime during peak periods.
  • May require sitting for extended periods and using a computer for data entry and analysis.
