The City of O'Fallon is looking for a customer-service oriented team member for a Customer Service Representative in support of the City's utility billing operations. This position plays an important role in the customer-service and clerical functions in the Finance Department. Our Customer Service I Representatives can expect to make a starting hourly rate of $19.38 to $20.15 depending on experience; the position hourly rate ranges from $19.38 to $29.06. We're looking for someone who has the desire to deliver great customer service to residents regarding their utility billing accounts with the City. This person should be able to easily learn department policies and procedures and have knowledge of modern office practices, procedures and equipment. The hours for this position are typically Monday through Friday from 8 am to 5 pm.
As a Customer Service Representative, your duties and responsibilities will include:
- Answers telephone; provides information, customer relations regarding accounts.
- Resolves customer billing concerns.
- Assists residents with closing accounts.
- Prepares and dispatches water/sewer tap inspection orders.
- Issues and completes work orders for water/sewer repairs and more in depth account information.
- Maintains departmental on-call schedule.
- Maintains the list and dispatches water turn-offs
- Files documents.
- Performs related duties.
- Other duties as assigned.
