Position Overview:

Lightbend relies on large amounts of data to make good business decisions. This individual would be responsible for ensuring the data required is captured, stored, managed appropriately and available for decision support in a timely manner for the entire company. We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Business Intelligence (BI) Manager to join our team. The BI Manager will play a crucial role in transforming data into actionable insights, driving data-driven decision-making processes, and supporting the overall strategic objectives of the company. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data analysis, BI tools, and integrations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with Internal IT to Design and implement new data capture and storage mechanisms from many sources
  • Develop and implement the BI strategy, aligning it with the company's business goals and objectives.
  • Integrate and unify existing analytics into a cohesive whole.
  • Design, develop, and maintain BI solutions, including dashboards, reports, and data models.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand their data needs and provide insights to support their decision-making processes.
  • Ensure data accuracy, integrity, and security across all BI platforms.
  • Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in BI and data analytics.
  • Provide training and support to end-users to enhance their understanding and utilization of BI tools.
  • Work with the Information Security team to ensure that all data flows and stores meet our policies and processes.
  • Maintaining and adding to a  list of data sources, types and destinations
  • Managing alerts, notifications when technical issues arise or key data is not in expected form
  • Managing the architecture and structure around collecting and analyzing data
  • Maintain salesforce fields

Report to the Solutions Engineering Manager

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Proven experience in a BI or data analytics role.
  • Strong proficiency in BI tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or Looker.
  • Extensive experience in the Google Workspace suite of tools (e.g. Sheets, Docs, etc)
  • Solid understanding of data warehousing concepts, ETL processes, and SQL, ideally BigQuery and Postgres
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders at all levels in a fully remote environment.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience with cloud-based BI solutions (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure).
  • Salesforce experience is a plus
