Compensation: $65,560 - Maximum amount is based on experience

Job Description

Supervision of all quality assurance functions. Implementation, development, audit and maintenance of plant’s quality and food safety systems including HACCP to assure compliance and customer satisfaction.  Technical supervision of quality assurance personnel, provide training and assistance in order to maintain technical expertise.  Provide technical support/resource for customers, production and other plant’s department.  Interface for local/regional regulatory inspections. Assist and or manage on-going quality special projects for improving current processes or enhancing product quality.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Quality and Food Safety

Development, implementation, and maintenance of all applicable elements of the POM Wonderful Quality and Food Safety systems in order to assure compliance. Support Counter Season Spring Arils Program if needed.

Technical Assistance

Responsible for providing technical assistance to operations and customers to aid in achieving product quality, sterility or investigating consumer complaints.

Continuous Improvement

Assist and or manage the quality projects which is to improve current POM manufacturing process, to enhance better product quality, to create higher standards for manufacturing practices and produce higher quality products.  

Teamwork

Promote communication, involve staff and employees, support staff, communicate objectives and develop employee potential.

Auditing

Responsible for audits, including GMP’s, pest control, product quality, product packaging integrity and regulatory to ensure standards are achieved and evaluation of opportunities for improvement.

Laboratory

Responsible for laboratory practices that achieve high performance standard.

HACCP / FSMA

Responsible for development, implementation, and maintenance of POM Wonderful HACCP and FSMA Food Safety Program.

Recordkeeping

Responsible for maintaining processing records that will allow for product, packaging, and ingredient recall.

Restricted Stock

Responsible for isolating finished product, ingredients, or packaging materials that do not meet standards and providing disposition recommendations.

Finance

Responsible for development of departmental Budget, and prioritize spending to meet financial target.

 

Qualifications

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  • Familiarity with state specific food safety laws.
  • Ability to see the “big picture” business perspective, but is willing to “roll up their sleeves” and do whatever it takes to get the job done.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to provide guidance and assistance to all levels of employees.
  • Professional communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines consistently. 
  • Ability to perform efficiently and effectively in a fast-paced, deadline oriented environment.
  • Ability to be flexible and adaptable.
  • Demonstrated problem solving and conflict management skills.
  • Ability to employ creative and innovative thought processes.
  • Ability to perform analysis and communicate results effectively.
  • Intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite and Oracle software.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

At least 3-5 years progressively responsible Quality Assurance experience in a supervisory capacity, with a specific emphasis in food safety preferably within a production/manufacturing setting. Bachelor’s degree in Micro Biology, Food Science or related field. Supplementary training and/or designations related to the quality assurance or food safety field, or equivalent education and experience, is desirable.
