Snelling is seeking a Civil Litigation Attorney for a dynamic and well-established law firm in Knoxville, Tennessee that is motivated and demonstrates interest in civil litigation. The ideal candidate will thrive in a collaborative environment, exhibit a growth-oriented and entrepreneurial mindset, and actively contribute to the firm's community-driven culture. Our client specializes in representing, healthcare professionals and companies, as well as other businesses, in a wide range of legal matters, including medical malpractice, licensure, payor claims, employment, compliance, information privacy, mergers and acquisitions, product liability, and general business issues. Their practice extends throughout the Southeast, with a primary focus in Tennessee. The work will be primarily performed on-site at our offices in Knoxville, Tennessee, with occasional travel and the possibility of remote work.


The Civil Litigation Attorney will be responsible for:


  • Drafting initial reports, interim reports, pre-trial reports, trials, and appellate activity to present our clients' cases persuasively.
  • Drafting and filing legal documents, motions, briefs, and appeals on behalf of clients.
  • Devising and executing personalized defense strategies tailored to individual client circumstances.
  • Preparing discovery requests and responding to discovery to gather essential information.
  • Drafting and responding to discovery-related motions to ensure efficient case progression.
  • Regularly attending court appearances to advocate for our client's rights and interests.
  • Taking and defending depositions of both fact witnesses and expert witnesses to gather crucial evidence.
  • Finding ethical solutions to legal matters
  • Collaborating with all members of the legal team to ensure a more successful outcome.
  • Preparing motions for summary judgment to seek favorable resolutions for our clients.
  • Staying informed about any current legislation to maintain compliance with ethical and professional standards.


The Civil Litigation Attorney will excel with:


  • 1-5 years of litigation experience.
  • Licensed in the state of TN
  • Strong interest in the practice of civil litigation.
  • Excellent writing and research abilities, with a keen attention to detail.
  • Comfortable working with deadlines and supporting other attorneys.
  • Juris Doctor (J.D) degree from an accredited law school
  • Ability to travel as needed.
  • Team Player: Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues and support other attorneys.
  • Teachable: Willingness to learn and adapt to new challenges and legal developments.
