Position Summary

The Heat Treat Operator will be responsible for operating and maintaining the heat treat furnace through all stages of heating process. The ideal candidate will be independent and self-motivated with little to no supervision. The Operator will understand and manage all aspects of the heat-treating process from; normalizing, stress relieving, and annealing. We are looking for a candidate that will be subject matter experts of metal treating.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Run, operate, and monitor the heat treat furnace through all stages of the process
  • Separate parts to be loaded into the furnace
  • Follow specific work instructions to complete daily work assignments in a timely manner
  • Operate overhead crane to move parts to the furnace
  • Read computer controls, such as carbon controller at periodic intervals to ensure specified temperatures and soaking plus cooling times are maintained
  • Maintain and clean department daily
  • Perform duties in a safe and productive manner
  • Follow all safety protocols and procedures
  • Other duties assigned

Requirements:

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Good work ethic, reliable and willing to work
  • Prior experience with heat treat is a plus
  • Self-motivate and able to work without constant supervision
  • Must have basic computer skills
  • Excellent communicator verbal and written
  • Ability to get along with others in the working environment
  • Must have forklift operating experience
  • Must be able to operate an overhead crane and had prior experience


Education and Experience

  • High School Diploma or equivalent


Work Environment and Physical Demands

The following environment/atmospheric working conditions are commonly, but not always, associated with the performance of this position. This position operates in a manufacturing shop environment. Exposure to noise, chemicals, and materials consistent with a manufacturing environment is constant. This a physically demanding position.

  • Ability to lift materials up to 50lbs.
